My Story

I have been working as a holistic practitioner in Wilmslow, Cheshire for over 15 years, having first being introduced to reflexology when I was struggling to conceive.

Prior to this I had never really considered that non-western medical approaches had any merit. I thought that most alternative therapies were for relaxation, carried out by purple haired, sandal wearing, chakra chanting hippies. Not that there is anything wrong with this, it just didn’t match my own approach to life.

Which, at the time was pretty stressful. I worked for 15 years in FTSE 100 companies, living away from home in London for half of the week. My job was very stressful and I had a black and white attitude to most things, including health.

It was only when my husband and I experienced three miscarriages that I thought that maybe I should take a deeper look at my health, my stress levels and my emotional state. A friend at work approached me and suggested that maybe acupuncture or reflexology could help. I went along with a pretty low expectation for the treatment. Little did I know that it would be the start of an extraordinary journey that has led me to be the mother of two incredible children and the owner of a very busy, successful clinic.

The Origins of Pink Lotus Acupuncture

I first set up my clinic in Wilmslow in 2010, seven weeks after the birth of my second child.

A few years later, I began studying Traditional Chinese Medicine as a way to offer more fully comprehensive treatment plan to my patients, qualifying in 2017. I now offer acupuncture and fire cupping in addition to reflexology.

Over the last 13 years I have worked with hundreds of couples who have struggled to conceive. Whether they are trying naturally or are receiving IVF, the emotional challenge has been intense. As I have also experienced many of these feelings, I think that many of my patients come to see me because I understand a little about what they are going through.

In recent years, I have become more interested in the journey a woman experiences as she enters the peri-menopause. It’s a path I am on personally and it has become a subject that is more commonly discussed, both in the media and in my own circle of friends.

There are many similarities between fertility and menopause TCM treatments, but each has it’s own challenges, complex emotions and specific treatment protocols.

Who do I treat?

I specialise in helping women navigate the complex journey through womanhood – Fertility, Pregnancy and Menopause. Issues of stress and anxiety often go hand in hand with female health issues but I also see patients who are stressed for other reasons.

I have worked with many professional athletes; England Football Players, Rugby Players, Golfers, Cyclists and have realised that in many cases, injury recovery is closely linked with emotional stress. My approach to musculoskeletal injury focuses on both the acute injury, any underlying health condition and the emotional undercurrent.

TCM, acupuncture and reflexology can also help with many other conditions including:

  • Digestive disorders eg IBS, constipation
  • Insomnia and sleeping issues
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Chronic Fatigue
